Sunday morning cookies

Grandma Hanson brought the girls their own little rolling pins. They were excited to roll out some sugar cookies and use the Halloween cookie cutters. Why not, it is April.

Grandma and Grandpa Haynes' Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Haynes brought the girls each a puzzle, thank you!

Ring around the rosies before bedtime, the girls have the most fun grandparents and daddy!
Grandpa Haynes had not been able to come see Dominic yet so on Saturday they came to see him. Thank you so much to Grandma Haynes for helping us watch and play with the girls with Grandma Hanson while we were in the hospital. During their visit on Saturday, they took the girls to Kiddie Acres and out to dinner to give Dan and I some quiet time. It was so nice to have them here with us for the day.

Grandma's first visit to the NICU

The girls came to visit me and thought the bed, tv and juice was the most wonderful thing

The first time Jaeden got to see her new brother

Monday morning I was getting the girls ready to go to the park and started having a lot of pain in my lower stomach and back. I thought I would sit down and take a break for a minute but the pain never went away. I called Dan and he said he'd meet me right away at the doctor's office. I dropped the girls off for what would be the rest of the day at my wonderful friend, Rushell's house, and then off to the hospital with full on contractions. We got to the doctor's at 11:30 and was admitted after 20 min of being monitored to have the baby at 1:38 pm. It was a fast delivery. I was thankful to have an epidural 5 min. before he was born. There was a lot of meconium in my water so they had to take him to NICU to make sure he hadn't swallowed any. He was gone for a little over 2 hours and was brought back to me to join me in our room. The nurse quickly discovered that his blood sugar level was too low and he was too cold so she took him to the nursery to sit under the heat. The nurse practitioner from the NICU came to the room hours later to tell us they took his blood and his red blood cell count was dangerously low. After ruling things out with x-rays and a CAT scan, they determined that he bleed into me in utero starting most likely weeks ago losing his much needed red blood cells. He had to have a blood transfusion and shortly after started getting coloring back and actually started to cry which we had not really heard yet. My mom flew to Texas that night she got the news about his blood. I will be forever grateful for her quick support. ( I LOVE YOU!) His oxygen level kept dropping and they hooked him up to an IV in case they needed to do other tests on him that required an empty stomach so he didn't get to eat until Thursday. We got to have him room in with us Thursday night and he did so well they discharged us Friday afternoon. My mom, mother-in-law and the girls came to bring him home. Jaeden and Avery were so excited to finally meet their new baby brother. It is so wonderful to be home!! Thank you to everyone for their prayers and support, we love you all.

Crowe's Nest Farm

After the cow milking demo. The poor cow had 8 demos to do today. Poor utters.
Checking out the turtles

Lovin the goats

tunnel to Faerie Wood
the cute little three muskateers
For Jaeden's playgroup we went to Crowe's Nest Farm. It was such a nice day. We had fun petting the animals, hayrides, and this fun Faerie Wood. In the big red barn they had snakes and spiders in cages. This was not the girls favorite, Jaeden asked to leave "immediately".

Enchanted Springs

More than happy to be in jail

Texas Longhorn
This lady asked Dan to come down and be her volunteer while she whips this styraphom stick after she tells us the whip goes 750 mph. I was pretty nervous for his hand. I would like all my loved ones appendages to stay intact.

We had such a fun weekend with Dan's family. All of his sisters and their families came to San Antonio for a fun family reunion. We went to Sea World, this fun cowboy city, and to the San Antonio Zoo. I wasn't able to get pictures of the other fun activities but at least have these.

Happy 5th Birthday Jaeden!

Lunch time- Totino's Pizza, grapes and a juice box (Jaeden's favorite)

Pillowcase sack races

Musical pillowcase

Decorating their slippers

Jaeden's sleepover cake and goodie bags.

Mary gave us a great birthday party idea of having a pajama party. Jaeden was very excited about the idea of getting to wear her pj's and play games with her pillow. We had so many fun friends come over and play and made Jaeden's birthday so fun. After the party we spent many hours playing with her new toys, every single one was her most favorite. She is such a sweet girl, we love our big 5 year old!

Weight training at 4??

After doing the eliptical machine one morning, Jaeden declared that she was going to work out too and ran upstairs to get her exercize clothes on. She went and pulled out the stair step and 2 lb weights. Avery jumped in on the action and worked out with the resistant band. I'm so glad I can rub off some good habits early to my kids.

Roadtrip to Houston

Astronaut Jaeden

Very excited Avery

Dan having just as much fun as the girls

We decided to take a little weekend trip to Houston before this little man is born. We pretty much borrowed the trip from our friends, they took the same vacation a few weeks before. We spent several hours at the Nasa Space Center. They have the best kids display and the girls couldn't get enough of the playscape. The girls did good sitting through some very educational movies about space as well. Later in the day we took them to Kemah Boardwalk to ride some rides. It was their first time to go on a double decker merry-go-round, very exciting. I think the plane ride was the favorite. It was such a cool boardwalk, we'll have to go back again sometime soon!
